E Visas: Foreign Investor Visas
The United States signs trade and investment treaties with other countries, designed to encourage good relations and peace. Nationals (individuals or companies) of countries with such Treaties can obtain E Visas to work in the United States in order to develop and direct their investment and/or trade. The E visa can be used by companies owned by a single investor, as well as by large multinational companies. It is also available to certain key foreign personnel of companies that are Treaty Foreign National (TFN) owned. Several different types of E Visas are available:
The E-1 Treaty Trader Visa is set aside for companies that trade goods and services. The E-1 visa employee must hold a supervisory or executive position or have skills which are essential to the successful operation of the enterprise. The E-1 visa is initially valid for two years and may be extended indefinitely.
The E-2 Treaty Investor Visa is for an individual or enterprise that invests a substantial amount of funds in the United States with the prospect of job creation. E-2 Visa applicants must be engaged in international investment between the United States and the alien’s country of nationality. E-2 visa holders must make a active and substantial investment as well as perform an essential role in the enterprise that results in the creation of job opportunities for US workers. There is no set investment amount for a E-2 visa holder, as it is dependent on the type of enterprise. The E-2 visa is initially valid for two years and may be extended indefinitely. Our investor visa services include:
